I am an architect with an interdisciplinary background in Energy management and sustainability Engineering. I am passionate about daylighting and exploring the potential use of façade opening design and shading systems to control and optimize daylight performance.

I graduated from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) majored in M.Sc. Energy Management and Sustainability. I worked mainly in two Laboratories at EPFL. The Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Performance-Integrated Design (LIPID) where I was involved in semester projects, and the Solar Energy and Building Physics Laboratory (LESO-PB) in which I have done my master thesis. The research projects were mostly focused on daylighting strategies and exploring the potential use of façade opening design and shading systems to optimize daylight performance in buildings which, in turn, affects human comfort, health and building energy efficiency.
Meanwhile, I had courses in architectural department to improve my abilities and pursue my passion and interest in architectural field too. In addition, I studied Management, Technology & Entrepreneurship as minor division of my master program which helped me to understand how engineers can grow their career in the business world. Not to mention, I received my B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering.
Before pursuing my graduate studies, I worked as an architect (technician and designer) for about two years in a consulting engineers company. I have developed strong communication skills through working in a multidisciplinary team that consisted of architects, interior designers, civil and structural engineers along with the construction team. Through my involvement in different types of projects I got experience in planning all phases of architectural design. During my master studies, I did two months internship at Emmer Pfenninger Partner AG, a specialist façade engineering company in Basel, Switzerland, where I had a chance to be involved in some national and international projects such as AstraZeneca's new R&D Center in Cambridge, UK, designed by Herzog & de Meuron. I was assistant in the preparation of facade concepts, verification regarding materials, sun protection and devices, facade reports and feasibility studies.
After graduation, I worked in an architectural light design company, LichtKompetenz GmbH, in Zürich, Switzerland. There I had the opportunity to learn from professionals and improve my knowledge regarding electric lighting design and its principles and standards. I was working in different phases of projects including CAD drawings, renderings of the electric lighting design, assisting in providing specification and preparing presentations, design implementations and site visits.
